Business Coach

Your Business Management Consultant and Coach

Benefits:

  • As your business management consultant and coach I’ll work with you and key team members on a one-to-one basis.  This means we’ll spend every minute focusing on your own specific challenges and development.  And this will result in faster outcomes.
  • My own perspective will not include any of the preconceived ideas that may exist within your organisation or sector.  Hence, I will look at your operation with unbiased clarity and honesty.  The truth isn’t always what we want to hear, but sometimes it’s what we need to hear!
  • I will challenge your thinking, as any good business coach should.  But I’ll also give you the tools, direction, and strategies that I’ve accumulated during my career to help you succeed and facilitate change.
  • We’ll focus on learning and development to ensure sustainable growth and improvement.  This will result in new ways of thinking that you’ll retain and can implement over and over again.
  • I’m your wing-man, and I’ve got your back.  A sounding board, motivator, trusted advisor, and occasionally, a shoulder to cry on!  Support for you and your team 24/7.
  • And I will hold you accountable to do what you need to do to get where you want to be.
  • My goal is to act as a catalyst to enable you, your team, and your business to become your very best.  But you will always remain in control.
Tim has the ability to look behind the numbers and see where the real value is. But more importantly, where that value can be enhanced and realised.

Delivery Options:

1. An Ongoing Relationship

This method includes regular meetings and is the most effective approach to delivering more complex objectives that require a certain degree of commitment and time to implement.

Features:

  • The relationship I have with my clients is total.  I am available 24/7 to assist your organisation in any way.  Think of me as part of the team.
  • We’d normally hold strategy/planning sessions once a fortnight.  This is sufficient to sustain momentum and ensure we’re continuously working towards achieving your goals.
  • However, the sessions can be monthly or weekly, depending on your individual requirements.  It’s about what works best for you.
  • We can meet at your premises or an external location. We may also hold sessions via video calls as necessary.
  • Sessions generally last around 1.5 to 2 hours, however, they are not a fixed length.  If we need longer, then, subject to our diaries, that’s fine.
  • Sessions can be with the ownermanagementteam members, or a combination, depending on what is necessary.
  • You are not tied to a contract, and there is no fixed term of engagement.  However, it is important that you are committed to the process.
  • The frequency of sessions can be varied if necessary.
  • Out of courtesy, I suggest giving each other 30-days’ notice of any changes to our arrangement.
  • I only work with a limited number of clients at any one time.  This ensures I’m able to give everyone the time and attention they require.
  • Remuneration is via a monthly retainer.

What happens during the sessions?

  • Initially, we’ll focus on ensuring we both have a complete understanding of what exactly you wish to achieve.

  • We’ll then identify any current and potential choke-points that may stop you achieving your goals and establish their root causes.
  • Next we’ll identify and prioritise individual tasks that need to be undertaken to overcome each choke-point and get you where you want to be.  This ensures we’re continuously working towards the overall objective, but in bite-sized and manageable chunks.
  • During each session, we’ll work on these tasks and prioritise what you need to work on before our next session.  Again, continuously moving you closer to achieving your goals.
  • But don’t forget, between sessions, I will be on-call to assist you in completing these tasks by supplying any relevant documents, tools, strategies, and advice.

And how do we get started?

  • An initial 30-minute call will allow us to find out a bit more about each other and ensure we’re on the same page.
  • If we’re happy with the outcome, we’ll arrange a second conversation face-to-face (we may choose a video call if more practical).  This is a more in-depth discussion and tends to last around 1-2 hours.  It’s an opportunity for you to find out everything you need to make an informed decision.  And for me to establish how best I can help you and confirm that we could successfully work together.
  • If we both see value at the end of this meeting, we’ll discuss the best method of delivering what you need to achieve your goals.
  • It may be beneficial to arrange a one-off ‘fact-finding’ session before our regular sessions begin.  This is an opportunity to go deeper in areas such as your goals, existing company structure, team set-up, management, systems, and sales and marketing strategy.  Depending on the circumstances, this may include me interviewing key team members which is always a very useful exercise.  Depending on the size of your organisation, this session can last between 3 and 5 hours.
“If you are looking for a great business coach who doesn’t just regurgitate others material and spout sound bites, speak to Tim”

2. ‘One-off’ Consultations

This option is better suited to specific issues that can be dealt with reasonably quickly. For example, you may require advice and an independent opinion regarding purchasing a competitor.

Features:

  • Initially, we’ll concentrate on gaining full clarity on what it is you’re wishing to achieve.  Then we’ll discuss the most efficient way to meet your goals and put an expected timeline in place to deliver them.
  • Generally, we’ll have an idea of how long each meeting will last beforehand. However, I recognise that often, the time required to work through what needs to be discussed is difficult to estimate. Hence, subject to diary constraints, our conversations do not need to be for a fixed length of time.
  • Meetings would normally be held via video or phone call. But I am happy to meet you at your premises or elsewhere if necessary.
  • Should something unexpected crop up, I’m happy to take your call at any time and will be available 24/7 to assist you.  I understand that many issues are ‘fluid’ and a conversation may be necessary at short notice.
  • Remuneration is at an hourly rate agreed upon before engagement.

Are there other options?

Yes, quite possibly!  Every organisation and every challenge is different.  Therefore, I am always happy to explore the most efficient way to overcome them.

Whatever is on your mind, please do get in touch.  I’m always happy to talk!
